Rules for Admission
A student must have passed the std. X examination of Maharashtra State SSC Board or an equivalent examination, to be eligible for admission to std. XI. The marks obtained at this examination will form the sole basis for admission to std. XI.
A student will be eligible for admission to XI Science only if he/she has secured a minimum of 40% marks in Science subjects at the qualifying examination. There is no condition regarding minimum marks for admission to Arts and Commerce streams.
A student will not be subjected to an interview or any kind of test prior to finalizing his / her admission.
As per the circular of the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Board, Pune, No. RA Man/Papui /Gen. Math/4050, dated 2nd June 2008, students who have opted for General Mathematics in Std. IX and Std. X can apply to Std. XI Arts, Science or Commerce General Stream. However, these students are not eligible to opt for Mathematics and also for the six subject of bi-focal and technical group. They will therefore have to opt for some other optional subject.
The rules for admission to the Bifocal subjects at +2 level in Govt. and Private Educational institutions have been sanctioned under Govt. Resolution No. GTS (1084/ 40926/ 101/ 84) Tanshi-2D, Education and Employment Dept. Mantralaya, Mumbai 32, dated 22nd April, 1987. All admissions to the Bifocal subjects will be given in accordance to these rules.
If the applicant belongs to a reserved category and wishes to apply for a seat reserved for such a category then it is necessary for the applicant to submit a relevant certificate, issued by a competent authority, to the effect that the applicant belongs to that particular category.
If the applicant wishes to apply for a seat under a special reservation category, then he/ she must submit a relevant certificate for that category.
The scheme of Best-5, for admission to Std. XIth will be applicable to the students who appear Std. Xth (S.S.C. Exam.) of March 2010 onwards through M.S. Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, as per G.R. Dt. SSC-2010/(25/10) Umashi-2, School Education & Sports Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai-32, Dt. 25th Feb. 2010.
Features of Admission
Student can fill only one application form to apply to one or two streams of their choice. If a student has applied to two streams then he /she can give a mixed preferential order of colleges of his/her choice. Also, if a student applied to two streams, he/she must apply to at least one junior college for each stream.
A student can apply to minimum one and maximum two streams for Arts, Science and Commerce general.
Students applying to bifocal subjects can give minimum 5 and maximum 25 preferences. Students applying to general streams (Arts, Science and Commerce) can give minimum 10 and maximum 30 preferences.
For the online admission process, the data of all students appearing for std. X examination through the Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Mumbai division in March 2010 is being directly used. Hence, as soon as such students enter their SSC examination seat no., all data pertaining to the student and available with the board, will be filled automatically.
Students will have to opportunity to get admission to a junior college, depending on merit and the order of preference given by him/her. If he/she does not get a seat as per his first preference, then the second, third, will be examined and a seat will be allotted to him/her.
All students, who have passed the examination of std. X and applied for online admission process, will be given admission as per their merit in first and subsequent merit lists.
